THANK YOU from Cheryle!

Dear Friends,

Just a few short months ago, I jumped into the U.S. Senate race because of you.  Because I knew you, everyday people, needed a voice.  Today, as I reflect on this amazing journey we’ve taken together, I know it was possible because of you.  From the beginning you have been by my side, cheering me on, donating your time, your energy, and even your financial resources during these tough economic times.  For this, “Thank You” is not enough. 

Though the result of yesterday's election did not turn out as we had hoped, I'm proud of the campaign we ran and I’m humbled that you trusted me enough to be a voice on your behalf to force the political process to focus on you, your problems and your potential.  Whether I run for office again, return to the Chicago Urban League, or move onto something else entirely, I will never forget the countless stories you’ve shared with me as I traveled the state, the faces of the many supporters I’ve met, or the incredible generosity you’ve shown during this campaign.  

Most important, I will not forget about the challenges facing Illinoisans today.  We must continue to stay focused on getting the people of Illinois back to work, making healthcare affordable and accessible for everyone, and improving the quality of our children’s education.  So here I make one final request: please do not stop fighting for what we believe in.  You will always find me fighting for you.

Again, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you’ve done for me, for each other, and for your fellow Illinoisans.
