Statement of Cheryle Jackson on Tribune poll in Illinois U. S. Senate Race

The results from a Chicago Tribune poll conducted January 16 -20 show that the Democratic race for the U. S. Senate in Illinois is wide open. Despite spending millions of dollars in TV advertising, Alexi Giannoulias has failed to close the deal and inspire voters. Meanwhile, support for my campaign has gained 4 percentage points since the last Tribune poll in early December. The 26 percent of undecided voters will move to the candidate they feel can best help grow jobs and opportunity for middle-class families, and I believe I am that candidate.
